Bingo Player Pays for Decision to Drink and Drive

Don’t drink and drive is an important lesson that we must all learn. Although some understand this concept, it’s tossed aside when someone breaks out the wine. One woman, Nakita Holliday of Blackpool, had to pay the piper for her rip roaring time at a local bingo club.

She kicked up her heels earlier this month and decided to have a drink while playing bingo. Holliday had no intention of driving home, at least while she was sober.

The 29-year-old pub worker later proceeded to get behind the wheel of her Fiat Stilo. The erratic driving at nearly 2am caught the attention of police, who pulled her over and made her blow. Of course Ms. Holliday was over the legal limit.

Not only did she receive a 17 month ban and a £120 by Blackpool magistrates, she also lost her recent promotion of manageress. Makes sense, right? If she can’t make good decisions in her own life, she certainly won’t be able to make them on behalf of a business, especially one that is based on serving alcohol.

Do you think the decision to retract the promotion was too harsh or was it right on the money? Let us know what you think. We’d also like to hear your thoughts on alcohol and gambling. Do they mix?
