A young bingo player who just started her career in the game has surely started off 2015 with a big bang!
Abbie Doughty, 18, entered in the world of bingo about one month ago and in that time she won a huge £130k jackpot by calling for the Full House in a linked bingo game at Barrow’s Apollo Bingo and Social Club in Hindpool, Cumbria.
Not only was the newbie the first to call but she actually bingo’d on her ‘star’ number which tacked on an additional £100,000 to her prize.
Abbie and her mother have been sharing all their bingo wins and she will definitely be sharing this one with mum so it was a lucky day for both of the ladies.
“Mum and I always split the money 50/50 when we go no matter how much we win”, said Abbie.
“My grandad is sick with cancer so I’m going to give some to a cancer charity and some to a homelessness charity, it’s something I don’t like to see so I hope I can help.”
Abbie describes the moment she won: “Everyone was staring at me and I was nervous, I didn’t realise what I had done.
“I’m so thankful to mum for asking me to come along now because it’s brilliant to have won.
“She’s really excited too though I think she will just spend her half on the house.”
