Gala Coral is planning to sell its retail division of Gala Bingo which includes 135 clubs. The company has hired Lazard bankers to locate a buyer and handle the sale.
There was some talk regarding the sale of the bingo clubs in the recent past but the process is moving forward. The Gala Bingo clubs are believed to worth £250 million
Carl Leaver, Gala Coral’s chief executive, said, “We remain pleased with the turnaround in the performance of Gala Retail and have recently embarked on a process to explore a potential sale of the division.”
As for its bookmaking business, the company plans to close a number of the betting shops due to the taxation on the industry for UK operators. Gala Coral is not the only one suffering from the tax rate as other big names are closing a number of their shops as well including William Hill.
Cozy Bingo Site Changes Bonus Structure in Preparation for UK POC Tax
Mira Bingo, a Cozy Gaming powered online bingo site on the Best Bingo Network, has been given a few updates but it still is almost as far from the best bingo out there.
Players will also notice a change in the bonus structure which now includes a 300% deposit bonus on a £10 minimum deposit plus £30 in free bingo tickets.
Free tickets are distributed as follows:
20 free tickets for the Daily Jackpot offering a £250 prize
10 free tickets for the Weekly Jackpot game offering a £500 prize
5 free tickets for the Bumper Jackpot game offering a £1,500 prize
Bonus structures are expected to continue to change to support the Point of Consumption tax which will be implemented in December 2014.
Mira Bingo has shown some less than trustworthy behavior but it is a fair example of what players can expect to see within the industry among those providing services to UK players.
