Rape is a very serious crime and coming forward to testify against the rapist is not easy to do especially if you are a young girl.

But what’s worse is falsely accusing a person of rape out of some attempt to seek revenge, attention or some other insane reason.

Females are put through the 3rd degree on the witness stand and when cross examined they are scrutinized in every conceivable way suggesting they asked for it.

Besides reliving the nightmare over and over again in court defending your honor and proving that it was nothing you provoked is mentally and emotionally exhausting.

Praise is given to any female who stands up against their offender and in the process stops him from raping someone else.

In the case of former Mecca Bingo caller Edward Hill, 70, Breightmet was cleared of all rape charges involving a schoolgirl in the 1980’s.

A grown woman now in her 40’s came forward last year claiming when she was between the age of 13 and 17 the offenses took place.

In court she said: “I did think to myself that other people are being heard now and it might be all right going to court and dealing with it. It was time for justice.”

In her testimony she claimed Mr. Hill touched her sexually and offered his underpants for her to wear.

He then would invite her into his bedroom where he raped her.

Judge Davies said the former school governor was a man of good character and had no prior convictions.

After 18 months of emotional stress Mr. Hill said:

“It is a relief it is all over because the truth is finally out.”
