The popular TV series in its 5th season, The Voice features judges Will.i.am, Boy George, Paloma Faith and Ricky Wilson. One contestant who will be appearing on the show will be the pride of the bingo community who will surely be rallying in her favor.
Brooklynne Richards a bingo caller from Birmingham is hopeful she can swoon the judges with a singing voice that will wow them. She will be auditioning to the song Cry To Me by Solomon Burke tonight January 10th.
Currently working at Sun Valley Amusements in Kings Heath on the slot machines at the venue, she also is a host to bingo sessions taking place every hour with cash prizes up for grabs.
Fathers who always seem to see the very best attributes of their daughters proved it when Brooklynne’s dad encouraged her to audition on The Voice. Her first try-out was in locally right there in Birmingham. The anticipation and wait to see if she had made it round two was a long that took two months before she got word that she was her way to the next stage.
It was then the singer had to travel to London which lead to another waiting period for a callback that took another month. This is when she learned she made it to the blind auditions in Manchester.
Who doesn’t like the classic film Dirty Dancing right? Well it was a wise choice for Brooklynne who hand-picked a song from what she considers one of her favorite movies. She gives the male song her only unique style saying that being different is sometimes good.
She also said “I was really nervous walking onto the stage, all I could hear were my heels clicking. It was completely silent!”
